Blue Collar Worker wrote:"Freeways" was more of a Randy Bachman solo album than a Bachman-Turner Overdrive one.
The whole plot was Randy Bachman, Randy Bachman and more Randy Bachman.
Apart from "Life Still Goes On (I'm Lonely)" with Fred Turner's belting vocals, the rest of the album sucks, sorry but that is my personal opinion.
I was glad when Randy jumped ship after the poor sales of "Freeways".
At least the "Ironhorse" debut album of 1979, gave Randy B some musical writing creditability once more, "Sweet Lui Louise" sounded like a BTO number and would have been a great follow-up single for "You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet". The album was split, 70% Randy Bachman and 30% Tom Sparks. A good album but not a very memorable one. The sleeve cover was the best thing about the album, that Ironhorse rising out of the molten metal in an iron foundry was a great idea. Sadly the second Ironhorse album "Everything is Grey" was very poor compared to it's predecessor, "Keep Your Motor Running" was the best track in my mind.
